Over the years, the NS Documentation Centre received several awards for its changing special exhibitions and for the permanent exhibition "Cologne during National Socialism" (Köln im Nationalsozialismus). In the basement, there is one of the best-preserved post-war jails, the "Gestapo prison" memorial.
